Tour de Livingston 2008
The Tour de Livingston is a road bike ride that consisted of four 25 mile loops, benefiting the the Howell rotary club that started at Mt. Brighton. Now, before taking on this journey I had my expectations set as to what the ride would be like. The first loop was suppose to be a flat ride…well perhaps I am not understanding the definition of a flat ride when there were a couple 1/2 mile climbs, but it warmed up the legs. =) The second and third loops were to be rolling hills…again I apparently did not understand the definition of rolling hills as there was one 3 mile climb and several high grade climbs. At the end of the second loop, I stopped for lunch and stretched the legs. The back and feet were bothering the most, but we hopped on the bike and started the third loop. The third loop was harder than the second and I finished it up hitting 82 miles. I took a break and decided that going any further would cause more back/neck/feet pain. This was my first attempt at riding 100 miles and will not be my last as one day I will ride a 100 mile ride. Overall I truly enjoyed the day as the weather was nice and the ride was challenging.
