Cycletherapy

August 22, 2007 Bike, Health, Mountain Biking

For those of you not reading along, I have been having some nerve issues with both hands. The nerve in question is the Ulnar nerve which give the sense of feeling to the pinkie finger and half the ring finger. So on Tuesday I went to a place called Cycletherapy ctbicycles.com over in Waterford. Basically a few guys who have had similar issues recommended I get fit for my bikes. So I went and met Ernie, the owner. Ernie went through everything and measured several angles to my flexibility on and off the bike. It took about 3hrs to fit me to both bikes. Right now they have my road bike and are changing out the handlebars and adding some new tape. The mountain bike is pretty much set, I just need to find another head set for it which he did not stock as he does not carry the brand of bike I have.

Now while I have not rode either bike for a long period of time yet due to the rain we have been getting. I did ride them around a bit and the amazing part is that a lot of pressure was taken off my hands. We will see how this works out but as of now I am very pleased with the work Ernie did and would recommend anyone who does any type of bicycle riding, to go see this guy as he can correct just about anything.
